The New Nationalist Right Are MEANIES And Won't Take Their Beatings and they Hit Me, Mommy! WAAAH!!|Encountered the following statement here:
One of the most easily recognizable features of the new nationalist right is its general embrace of rhetoric, often harsh rhetoric, as a means of furthering its political goals.
This statement is almost comical in that it is (a) true and (b) leaves out the rather important fact that this "general embrace" represents the "new nationalist right" copying the behavior which the "New Left" has engaged in for the last HALF-CENTURY.
"One of the most easily recognizable features of the Western Allies in World War II was their willingness to break the rules of war as regarded civilians."
The lie in both statements is a lie of implication and omission. The wording is clearly meant to imply that the new nationalist right in the first statement, and the Western Allies in World War II, were behaving badly by the standards of their era and opposition. In both statements the implicatation would be false, because the Axis and Soviets both treated civilians far worse than did the Western Allies, and the New Left (which is now, of course a fairly old Left) is far less tolerant of political opposition.
What's actually happened is that the American Right, having finally tired of behaving in an extremely civilized fashion and getting treated by the media as if they were vicious, while they see the Left behave viciously and be treated by the same media with forbearance and understanding; has adopted some vicious tactics, under the theory that if they're going to be accused of viciousness anyway, they might as well practice it. And people including you are acting as if it's a terrible thing, that the Right is finally fighting back.
Terrible. Don't they know that they're just supposed to curl up and try to protect their vitals during the beating? How dare[ they get up and throw punches of their own?
And what's really terrible is that it's turning out that the Leftists have glass jaws. Poor babies are sitting on the floor clutching their bruised faces and crying "But they hit us! We were just trying to beat them up and they hit us! This is unfair!"
Poor, poor babies.
The new weft need a baby bottle because someone said a twigger word or did some micwoagwession. Someone was wacist because they bwinked one too many times in deir genewal diwection. XD
In all seriousness though, perhaps some people are getting fed up with the Black Lies Matter movement committing acts of violence and causing trouble wherever they go as well as threatening the police, all while the Left try to justify it and/or silently approve. :/
Can you even say "trigger word"? Trigger -- part of every gun. Guns are bad, doanchanow.
Guns in the shape of pop-tarts are even worse. :O)
Good heavens, you talk as if "Who, whom?" were not the paramount question.
that the Right is finally fighting back.
Can you give me an example of this "fighting back" ?

Perhaps more to the point was the older man at a Trump rally who, after being sucker-punched by a protester, gave her a snoutful of pepper spray. I suspect from here on in, if #BLM and other such violent cretins start doing their usual thing at Trump or other rallies, the conservatives are going to punch back twice as hard.
Can you elaborate, please - I'm not an American

Look him up. Beyond that, if you're not an American, or British, not sure I can explain it.

Just last week, someone secretly wrote "Trump" in chalk at Emery University, triggering a leftist protest. The campus progressives felt unsafe after seeing those five letters, and quickly banded together to chant:
“You are not listening! Come speak to us, we are in pain!” and then students moved into the administration building calling out, “It is our duty to fight for our freedom. It is our duty to win. We must love each other and support each other. We have nothing to lose but our chains.”

RE: Glory, Glory to the Unknown Heroes
I'm sorry you don't see the humor in this. Does your national tradition call for more violent action?
I'm pretty sure liberals are responsible for writing it, anyways.
*Pretty* sure. Usually when liberals are trying to frame people, they don't use something so easily removed as chalk. Maybe they were triggered just by writing the word and couldn't bear to use paint.
There have been made-up racial incidents done by blacks on college campuses in recent months. Since chalk's rather white, they must've thought it was racist and couldn't write anymore as it was a microaggression.
They must really suck at Bridge. They'd freak every time someone plays a trump card. They'll also lose their asses since they won't be able to bid anything but "No Trump".

Bridge is game that just oozes white privilege. For recreation, i'll bet they have Maoist group struggle sessions with orgies of self-loathing.
I saw this coming back in the 1980s when the New Left completely lost their shit over Reagan. I commented to a liberal friend, "You know, you ought to be careful about calling people who aren't Nazis, Nazis. One of these days they're going to decide they might as well put on the brown shirt and get the knives out."
Yeah, me too. Keep calling everyone you disagree with racist/sexist/homophobe/islamophobe/yada/yada/yada, and what happens is people figure: "Fukkit, I might as well be it if I'm always being accused of it".

Oh, the irony
"You know, you ought to be careful about calling people who aren't Nazis, Nazis ...
"... it burns
The irony exists only in your mind. Whine louder, and contemplate that no court
has found the Cruz birther claims to have any
Holy crap, we use RHETORIC!? Why didn't anybody tell me!? I thought we were just supposed to babble like morons.
Left. Right. Both are equally crazy these days.
Small loan of a million dollars.
Yeah, and I'm sure Christians and Muslims are equally violent these days. (sarcasm)
Okay, I admit it. I'm getting darn tired of hearing people dismiss actual intellectual, political discussion by just waving their hands and saying languidly, "All the same, all the same."
Until a moderate is fielded by either side I maintain my belief. Deal with it.
Trump is a nut. Clinton is a nut. Sanders is a nut.
All nuts. They can all jump in a can and be mixed nuts.
"Deal with it"? This *is* dealing with it. Not dealing with it would be sitting down and shutting up in a forum meant to provoke discussion.
Whether willing or not, you are actually falling neatly into the classification that I've been forming of the people who believe that 'both sides are crazy' as being more liberal than moderate. In your rebuttal, you name (in reverse order) an extremist hard-left liberal, a slightly less extremist hard-left liberal, and a leftist moderate whose highest concentration of fans are people who vote Democrat... and claiming that, since they are "all nuts", that proves that "both sides are equally crazy".
Wah wah wah. Go cry with the Democrats that I hurt your poor widdle feelings.
I have a right to express my view. I did. And you're still atack dog mad. Just like a Liberal. How DARE I not share your view? Doubleplusungood badthink.
You even brought religion into it. Project much?
I am sorry, I thought that you commented on a political debate post because you were interested in political debate.
Have fun laughing yourself sick over how stupid I am, make me out to be whatever you need me to be to justify your ridicule, and see if you can get some profanity into your response just to make it complete!
C'mon, get the full enjoyment out of it!
Trump is a nut, but what made Trump? He is a symptom of the very thing mentioned in the OP. For all too long now, Republicans have been walking on eggshells, afraid to trespass on the dictums of Pee Cee. We had McCain whose candidacy didn't really take off until he announced that Sarah Palin was his VP. Then we had Mittens who just took all the crap the Dems threw at him without a peep of protest, as in saying nothing about that advert that depicted a Paul Ryan look-alike pushing an old woman off a cliff. He acted downright apologetic about having worked for Bain Capital. We're sick and tired of squishy candidates.
Now maybe there was nothing McCain could have done about winning after GWB's two terms. That's been the usual pattern since the end of WW II: the parties alternate for one or two terms. The only exception was Reagan/Reagan/Bush. Romney, on the other hand, should have won. He would have had he been more assertive, had he denounced the disgusting advert in the strongest of terms, if he had defended himself against ridiculous charges stemming from a long ago incident as a high school student, had he refused to apologize for his Bain Capital work, or his net worth.
Then along comes Donald Trump who finally discusses issues that the whole rest of the GOP field of hopefuls avoided like the plague because it wasn't politically correct. His bombast would never have caught on like it did had Republicans and conservatives not had a history of being namby-pambies because some libby commentators might call them names. He took off like a rocket precisely because he refused to let the leftstream media dictate the terms of the debate before it ever got started. Unlike Romney, The Donald doesn't apologize for his net worth. Unlike Romney, he calls out the press. Where The Donald is screwing the pooch is his failure to recognize that his bombast has served its purpose, and now's the time to demonstrate he can also be a statesman. He won't win if he keeps alienating the supporters of the rest of the Republican contenders. Unforch, he has been saying some of the stupidest shit that will come back to haunt him once the campaign gets underway.
Thank you for a well thought out and cogent response. You have a point.
I'm just so disenfranchised with the whole process right now that I truly see no good outcome.
Both McCain and Romney dealt with Obama with kid gloves because they didn't want to be seen as "racist," preumably by the media --who were going to support Obama anyway and were utterly-open about this -- and other people who were going to vote for Obama anyway. In consequence, they neglected to attack Obama on his obvious weaknesses:
(1) He had no experience running anything; he was just a pretty face in a well-tailored suit being used as a front-man by the Chicago Machine;
(2) His known political activity, little as it was, had prominently included mentorship by William Ayers, a known anti-American and unrepentant terrorist;
Then, in the 2012 election, Romney could have added to this a long list of Obama ineptitudes; he should also have attacked him on his use of the IRS against political opponents in 2010 and afterward. He should have as much as possible remained on the attack.
Instead, McCain and Romney courted the repect of the media. Which, of course, they failed to get, becaue they were both guilty of Being Republican and Disagreeing With Obama anyway. They disgusted their own base, who saw them constantly on the defensive and apologetic for existing.
Now we see Trump defying the media, defying the BLM demonstrators, and it's no wonder that he gets support just for standing up to them. Because it's long past time that somebody called their bluff.

"Trump is a nut"
"Trump is a nut ..."
Trump is crass, Trump is vulgar, Trump is uncouth, Trump is trying to wing it, Trump may be unprincipled, but a nut??
